| Deli back when we were both younger and I was more willing to get mowed over by sheep. I think this was at one of the herding test (AHBA?) in TX. I don't think she was more than a year at that time. Like her sister, she was handler impaired. |
| Deli has hated the camera lens since she arrived, and I just don't have pictures of her. I have the one of her working because it was sent to me by a by stander at the clinic. I must try to correct that. |
| Deli and her half sister arrived at around 9 weeks, and just took over. These two have been constant companions from day one, they alone have *border collie* games that only they know the rules to. They teach them to the younger BC, but the other breeds just can't seem to understand the game, so mostly they become the *sheep*. They are out of an imported trial ch sire and by a bitch sired by trial ch. (or what ever term they use in Wales), and they are all about work ethic. Deli is laid back quiet (except at feeding time) a soft ruler, while mardi has alway had a bit more humor in her day to day life. Until she walk into the sheep pen. I always get goose bumps when I watched her work, she just was a different dog. Mardi went to Nationals and place in the open class under Norman Herbal, and was on the list to go into herding training when she failed her OFA, so she just stayed home and became ruler of our home, she and her sister do it very well! |
| Mardi always smiles! The two candid pictures at almost 10 years showing off her pretty white teeth! The show picture is her obtaining her National Ch. at @ 18 mos (I think). She has bodied up A LOT since then. lol She would have gotten her Int Ch but the building has about 100 ceiling fans in it and she was totally mesmerized by them (still is) and just would not stand still the first day! She spent the weekend attempting to herd all the fans into a bunch. I am sure she was quiet dizzy by the last show! Both girls are pushing 11 and spend time watching HGTV and What Not to Wear. Mardi thinks correct attire is black, while Deli insists it should be brown.. They do agree that any proper outfit is always trimmed in white. Deli is in charge of attending the food bowl and notifying the *staff* when it is empty, by simply throwing it at you. One does take notice! Mardi is Homeland Security Chief in charge of keeping terrorist insects from attacks. She insists that ALL flying insects are suicide bomber in disguise. She does her job well, we are still safe! And they spend their days trying to teach the crested to herd! Should keep them busy for many years to come! |
